Program participants will use a variety of assessment tests to identify their skills, strengths, interests, and personality type.

These assessments help the participant to choose a career direction and occupational  goal that is suitable for them.

 

Career Cruising

Career Cruising is a self-assessment tool that matches the individual’s interests and skills with a number of possible occupations.

It provides a complete description of each occupation, including educational qualifications and information about employment opportunities and salary ranges

 

 

 

Labour Market Information

Clients will gain information about:

    • major trends in the labour market
    •  the hiring system in Canada
    •  workplace culture
    • employer expectations
    • where to find job postings in their field
    • sources of company information
    • employment laws and employee rights

     

Job Search Skills

Clients will gain information about:

    • major trends in the labour market
    •  the hiring system in Canada
    •  workplace culture
    • employer expectations
    • where to find job postings in their field

    • employment laws and employee rights

     

Action Plan

By end of the program, clients will have chosen a career goal and completed their step-by-step action plan with the assistance of program staff. 

This plan will include all the steps they need to take in order to reach their career goal.

The plan could include training courses and other programs that help internationally trained immigrants find work in their fields.
